Hey there fellow Otaku. Rising Zan here. Well I thought about it a bit and I feel that Otaku Underground shouldn't be working a such low conditions and should be better than this. When I made this site, written reviews weren't what I had in mind at all but I thought I would gain experience with them, and I did. So for now the Underground will be going on hiatus until we purchased the proper tools to make good quality reviews without people reading through tons of text to make sense of them. I may do reviews every now and then but not every month like I promised in the beginning. So please wait, for the Underground will be back in full focus and improved. Thank you for understanding.
This isn't good-bye, this is see ya latter

Anime: Yakitate! Japan
Welcome to the Underground Rising Zan here.
Now any good otaku has heard or read of some kind of sport manga. You know the kind where a kid discovers a sport of some kind and finds out about how great playing this sport is and putting all their effort and grit into being the very best, and of course learning a super secret technique or two doesn't hurt. Sports manga do this all the time, however there are other manga that also do this, but with subjects that are not sport related. So I like to wrap these two together and call them, HOBBY MANGA.
Hobby manga is very standard in shonen magazines as you have boys/girls trying their very best at the things they love. Baseball, Soccer, and hell even American Football are prime examples of the things they do. But then there are the other hobbies, the not so well known but just as greatly passionate. And in this case baking is passion of one Kazuma Azuma; a boy with the gift of solar hands and with the dream of making a bread that Japan can call their own. This is the anime review of Yakitate! Japan
YOSH!
Music: 6/10 Above Average
Now you may be wondering what Yakitate! Japan is all about well let's have this guy explain.
Ah, see what I did there? The Opening feels very easy-going but also hopeful like "we are going to accomplish our dreams". However it makes it all seem like a slice of life (which this isn't). The soundtrack works with the show well but nothing you can really listen to on a OST over and over. However some pretty damn catchy ending songs.
Art & Animation: 7/10 Nice
The animation of the show is pretty standard for the most part. However, there 1 thing I will commend about the animation.
THE REACTIONS
By reactions I mean the reactions to when the characters eat bread, which is the biggest selling point on the anime/manga. They take one bite of the bread and in that instance they are thrown into a world of taste and flavor where they express how it tastes with big actions rather than words. The reaction settings a big, blown out and are one of the things that makes Yakitate Japan so interesting. However, they don't really do to much other than make things a bit more colorful or give it a different background, but a good job is still done with these great parts of the show.
Story: 8/10 Great
At it's very core Yakitate Japan is a comedy, filled with humor, big laughs and over the top reaction shots. It also works great as a Shonen creating suspense when making the bread there are times when Azuma is doing something completely unorthodox and everyone is unsure if he is doing the right thing only for the result to be that his bread to be on of his JAPAN masterpieces.
(Note: JAPAN is a pun, because Azuma dream is to make a bread specifically for Japan, with PAN being the word for bread in Japanese. Thus JAPAN)
So we've got humor and some decent suspenseful action sequences, however there is something more... eventually in the series a secret is revealed about their being a power struggle over Patisiere (the main bakery chain that Kazuma works at) between the 3 granddaughters of the owner of the chain and who will inherit it. One of which is the main heroine, and her mother isn't the same as the other two. So yes, drama does exist of this world of fantastic bread.
Speaking of which it's ROULETTE TIME!
My favorite character is...
Kuroyanaza Ryo |
HE HAS THE BEST REACTIONS IN THE ENTIRE SHOW!!!
This may be an opinion, but I also think it makes it even better for someone so serious to have such ridiculous reactions to bread. Not only that but he does tend to have some interesting back story from time to time.
However, there is also a "worst" character I would say. His name is mushroom head, I won't bother telling you his name because I don't like him. And all he does in the series is complain that no one notices him and that's it. He's a useless character and a waste of space, I don't know why he is in the series because he is certainly not funny. Anyway, needed to get that out of the way.
I wholeheartedly recommend Yakitate Japan, it's manga has been been published by Viz and it's also available in French. As for the anime is so far only available online, be sure to support the official release of the manga first. Oh and one last thing to push you to watch this anime.

Anime: The Irresponsible Captian Tylor
When you hear Space Opera, what do you think? Do you think w ild interstelar adventures with a group of teenagers trying to defeat an evil empire lead by a laser sword weilding man in black? How about a group of interstelar space frontiermen who will boldly go where no man has gone before?
No, not that familiar? How about the story of a young pilot who finds himself piloting an experimental mecha? Or a Young man falling in love with a girl who's gift can create peace between humans and aliens? Yeah, much more familiar now I bet. But what about the story of one Justin Ueki Tylor, an irresponsible man,one day decides to join the United Planetary Space Force and ends up becoming captain of an small space destroyer and a mis-match crew? No? Well let's change that. Welcome to the Otaku Underground's review of The Irresponsible Captain Tylor!
YOSH!
A little background first, like some anime Captain made it's start not as a manga but as a light novel under the name "The Most Irresponsible Man in Space". It was then made into an anime (which will be what I am directly reviewing),then made a 10 part OVA series and finally a manga under then the title Love and War. However, the most interesting thing about Captain Tylor is that it's a comedy/parody of Space Operas. At least at first...
Music: 8/10 Good!
Right from the get go the Opening makes me think about the 80s, (even though this show was released in Japan in the early 90s). This isn't a bad thing but to me it makes the anime feel old to me, not that it's a bad OP. It's an Opening that fulfills all the the requirements, gets the viewer interested and excited to watch the new episode. But where the anime truly shines is in it's soundtrack. There is a theme for every moment, every character in the show that fits perfectly. There was on such tune that I would always know when it was coming, however I can't find the name of the song or the soundtrack for the show, so I'm just going to call it "Captain Tylor Strikes again" you'll know what it is when you hear it. So the OP is good, the Soundtrack is thrilling but the ending is possibly one of my favorite bits. It's slow, and really gets you into the mindset of Captain Tylor if only for a moment, which I will be talking about when we get to story.
My Favorite is!
The Irresponsible Captian Tylor is Licenced by Nozomi Entertainment and was directed by Koichi Mashimo. You can find Captian Tylor online on Nozomi's Youtube account but be warned because they are only streaming episodes for a certian amount of time and then taking them off. I absolutely greenlight anime. If your into Space Operas of any kind make sure you check this one out for sure.Ther sheer personality of the show will interest you from the start. The comedy is golden, constant and the story itself is real with it's own originality thrown into the space opera genre.
Overall: I give The Irresponsible Captain Tylor and his magnificent crew

Art & Animation: 5/10 Average!
Now I didn't really care for the art style of Captain Tylor, the space stuff looks spacey and the spaceships seem to be your standard Humans V.s Aliens Affair. And before anyone accuses me of dogging points because it's old because here is the reason why.
Age 20??? |
Yeah, Age 20 |
This is Justy Ueki Tylor, captain of the Soyokaze and our main character... Age: 20. Now does this man look 20? For a majority of the anime no... no he doesn't. He looks more 30 than 20 and in fact I find this to be a slight weakness. Alot of the cast in the anime looks different from what their age is, girls looks more 18 than 20 or 30 and other problems but this is VERY minor for me. But it's still a problem that was constantly reminded during the show. Although they fix it on the 2001 box art release.
Characters/Audio: 9/10 Great...
Finally, to my favorite part. The greatest part to Captian Tylor I love is the fact that keeps the comedy as priority one, because this is the opposite with most Space Operas. With Star Wars, Gundam and even mecha you usually get dry/dark humor but whenever you get a generally funny moment you predict it right before it happens loosing some of the humor. However from ep.1 the audience is given comedy full force, but better yet. The audience is given space opera parody humor, which I found to be very unique for the series. There are so many cliches like the young ace pilot, the ruff and tough space marines, the beautiful yet headstrong female Lieutenant, the crazy doctor and the mysterious yet attractive woman on board. However... the one thing I like better is that it keeps to it's own story and still plays as a Space Opera. There are parts where you just stare at the screen with eyes wide open thinking, "No... that didn't just happen." And it does that while balancing the humor in.
And then there is the voice acting... look I'm neutral in the Subs vs. Dubs debate. With this both are good with the exception of these characters...
My Favorite is!
Justy Ueki Tylor Age:20
Yes, I'm sure you all didn't see this one coming. But anyone would have to agree, not only is Tylor the center of comedy, action and drama in the show but he is also the most interesting character in alot of space opera anime. Okay, so he's a captian so he has a lot of power right? Yet he barely ever uses it, at least in the way one would expect. He's lazy and really lets everyone do what they want to do. And this is another reason why Tylor is so interesting. Remember Trigun? Remember Vash the Stampeed and in the 1st episode he looks completely helpless and looks like some kind of comic relief character until the very end of the episode where he takes out the big bad guy and you didn't know if he planned it or not. I have the same feeling about Tylor throught the entire series. At first he looks like a typical guy who just wants to have a good life, but then he starts taking care of tight situations like a pro but he does it all with a sense of doubt in you everytime he does it. If a ship gets in range of him he surrenders with no resistance and acts very kindly to his captor. A ship is about to destory his ship all together, he runs away and finds some random but logical way out of it. Captain Tylor has such a child like way of thinking yet still acts like a functional adult, yet at times it's almost impossible to see why he acts the way he does. Everyone calls him just a lucky guy, though some have their suspicions about him that he's just hiding it and altough I doubt he is really an alien who has been alive for hundreds of years that doesn't stop him from always capturing my interest in the show every time I watch it.

Halloween Special Review! Manga- Bokurano
YOSH!!
Rising Zan here, now before I begin I have to apologize and explain for the delay in the October review. The reason is I wanted to do a review that had something to be Halloween related however I would still like to not delve into Sennin manga so quickly. So I thought up of some good ideas for Halloween themed manga but I came into problems of they are either too well known (thus defeating the main purpose of Otaku Underground) or not very Halloween. I then eventually forsake the idea of doing a perfect unknown Halloween related manga and just wanted to find a good review for me to do. And it was my Vice Leader of Otaku Underground, Seraphie, that recommended the following manga to review. And although this manga doesn't follow in any Halloween tradition it is pretty unknown and excels in one factor, the twisted spin on the idea of team Mecha that is Bokurano.
Presentation : 8/10 Good!

Your a kid at science summer camp, away from your friends, family and home town for a whole week. You make new friends, do some paper mache' sculptures and find a cave to where a weird scientist lives and asks if the 15 of you would like to play a little game. DON'T TAKE THE CANDY KIDS! But what they do take is a once in a life time opportunity to ride in a giant mecha and save the word from 15 monsters bent on destroying the world! What's that? You heard this story in 500 other anime? Well... sooner than the kids like... they find out that this game isn't as fun as they were led on. As reality hits them hard, and soon their fragile little lives are then crushed in an instant when they see the giant mecha hovering over their house, waiting for them to pilot. For their first time.
Published by Shogakukan in Japanese and Viz Media in English, with story and art done by Moriho Kito. This is Bokurano: Ours
Presentation : 8/10 Good!
Bokurano is a mecha based manga, I wouldn't call it Shonen but wouldn't call it Senin either, but maybe somewhere in between. There isn't much if at any blood except when needed to get the realistic idea across. And no nudity (except maybe that one chapter). At first, I found it odd how the chapters were named and found out that they were named after the characters that the manga was focusing on. Each character gets an 3-5 chapter arc that explains who they are, their personality and their personal life as in the end they are personally tasked to defeat the monster that threatens to destroy the world which results in their hometown. At first I groaned when this trend was taking place because right before I read the chapter I had a basic idea of what was going to happen in the long run. However, I very quickly got used to it as I then was so enthralled with the character development in each chapter, and it was then that I realized that each chapter wasn't as predictable as I thought it out to be. And the cover art is cool, showing us the kids the volume is going to be focusing on.
With some volume covers adding people who won't be focused on and some even skipping people who were focused. It's very inconsistent and somewhat annoying. Also other than the first volume, the covers don't have very good background illustration. But hey, at least there is one right?
Art: 9/10 Great...
Now the catch with Kito-sensei's art styles is this. His backgrounds are AMAZING! Simply stunning. You can take most of the pages from one of the volumes (like the one you see to your left) color it, and then put it up in an art museum and not many people would look at if funny. He gives great detail to the cities, the beaches and even the ocean itself and makes it look great. The mechs also follow this trend as the kids mech "Zearth" (that's pronounced like how the french would like "ze earth, ho ho ho. I will now eat a crepe and twirl my long mustache.) looks highly detailed and reminds me of the angel mechs in Evangellion. And even the art in the monsters is really good as how they look also shows the kids how the monsters will fight and how they need be able to defeat them.
However then comes in Kito-sensei's weakness, drawing characters...
In the begining of the very first chapter, you are introduced to the characters by your basic run of the mill character sheet drawn on a piece of lined paper, it looks exactly like a doodle sketch someone drew during math class. But y'know this is a basic drawing of the character drawn with pencil might I add, the characters must look better when Kito is drawing them with a pen. And... no. No they don't. NOW, for the record, the character drawings aren't that terrible. They just look a little unprofessional, with some outlines not being thick enough, some noticeable awkward faces and other little problems. Now I'm don't have any problem with his art style, however I feel I need to point this out for all you hardcore Art critics. His character art isn't bad, just different from the average. One thing I especially like about Kito's color style is his seeming use of watercolors when doing color for covers or even color pages, it's very new for me to see this instead of solid colors on covers and it's very original to see this in a manga.
Story: 9/10 Great
Well here is the big one, characters and story. This manga really prides itself on it's brand of storytelling.
Like I explained before, the basic story plot is 15 middle school kids go to a science camp and find a doctor who asks if they want to play "a game". They generally all agree and are then mysteriously teleported out of the gave they have discovered. They all then head back to their lodging only to soon feel and earth rattling tremor. They all rush out only to see the giant black mecha, that they will have to pilot.
All of the kids have mixed feelings about the situation. Some excited, some scared and some hide their emotions on their predicament. That is until this little hell spawn shows up.
Dung Beetle
You certainly won't like this "adorable" little thing certainly if you are of one of the 15 kids. Dung Beetle is a foul mouthed, short tempered, and creepy as hell floating... bear head thing. Dung Beetle is the kids only source of information about the monsters, the black mech they are piloting and all such things. Even though he asks the kids if they have questions, he never answers all of them, and only answers them when it's convenient for him. He's a vindictive prick who is only there because he's obligated, but he still likes to add to the kids stress of saving the world in a giant mech against 15 mysterious monsters.
That's another thing I need to add, this isn't your typical Saturday morning Power Rangers knock off. This is a realistic mecha series with major civilian casualties with every fight. They move the mech one step. Boom! They just broke the one bridge that transports all the civilians out of the city. They take another step? Boom! The pilot just crushed his dad and is now having an emo angst attack and is completely helpless. Seriously, when the civvies see the robot and the monster show up, they don't cheer on the robot. They are scared of both of them and run for their freaking lives. This manga slaps the face of traditional robot anime, where the kids save the world with the power of love and friendship, and tells it to "grow the hell up!" It's frightening, it's gruesome and what's worse is that the fate in the world is in the hands of completely inexperienced middle schoolers.
Again, each time a monster shows up a different kid has to pilot the mech with no previous hands on experience. Lucky for the kid it's powered by the mind, but that doesn't stop some of the pilots from shouting "MISSILE FIRE!" anyway. But what's even more interesting is that each of the kids has a completely different mindset from the last. The first kid may be a sport nut and kick the monster and kill it in one shot, but the next may be a complete coward and run away as the monster devastates their hometown. That's another thing, the mech and the monster appear wherever the next pilot is at, and the other kids will show up there for the fight and then will end up where they originally are.
I apologize if I haven't focused on the true main characters, the kids, enough. The problem is that this manga is 65 chapters long. And I have only just read chapter 13, which only barely fulfills my 10 chapters rule. And since I haven't been able to read the whole thing I can't tell you all about the various characters only the ones I have read. So I won't be doing a favorite character bit this time, for those who care.
Finish it!
To simply give you an idea of what this manga is as a whole, think all of the kids anime/shows you read as a kid like Digimon, Power Rangers, Voltron and etc. and throw it into a pot filled with the emo and angst of Neon Genisis Evangellion. Surprisingly, this works well. For starters it fixes the flaw of Evangellion that is Shinji and instead divides up the role of being the main protagonist between 15 normal kids with realistic lifestyles and values.
I greenlight this manga for anyone who is in Middle school and up. Sorry my elementary school follower base, your going to have to wait a bit to read this. And for those who can, don't just read it online BUY IT! The first two volumes are translated in English and are available for purchase at your local Borders and Barnes & Noble and other such stores. There was also an anime done by Gonzo that you can watch pretty much anywhere on the Internet *cough* illegally *cough*. However, the anime does things VERY VERY VERY differently from the manga so if you are expecting an exact replica of the manga, think again.
Now for those of you who have read this far and still aren't interested, then I need to tell you this. I have been keeping something a secret from you about this manga, a technical spoiler if you will. I was told this "spoiler" before I even began reading it. And the reason I don't tell you is because I want you to be surprised by what happens. I want you to feel the same fear that those 15 kids feel... or should I say... felt?
Overall... I give Bokurano and the 15 kids who pilot Zearth!
9/10 Great...

Manga: Gamble Fish
You are playing a dice game of sorts that you have just been introduced to. You are playing against a woman who claims to be a witch and able to control the way the dice roll. She has been winning most of the rolls and your 1 roll away from losing.Oh, and there is a huge pot 2 meters above your head. Do you feel lucky? Or do you feel you can win? This situation is but a taste of the delicious and suspenseful madness that is "Gamble Fish" Created by Aoyama Hiromi and drawn by Amane Kazutoshi, Published by Weekly Shonen Champion.
Shishidou Academy, a private school for the rich and elite. Tom Shirasagi (or Tomu, if you speak engirsh) transfers to this school on one stormy night for one reason, "It's filled full of suckers." This leads to Tom being challenged to various games that have a wager involved. Starting with 100 yen to his name and making it his goal to amass it to 10 billion yen by doubling it with every bet. However, Tom isn't just any gambling fool as he applies different strategies with each game he plays.
So anyway, let's get to gambling!
YOSH!!
Presentation: 8/10 Good
The manga set's itself up to be a thinking manga. Like Death Note, Detective Conan or any other mystery series. There isn't much hand to hand combat, though it does get pretty damn close to it. The first thing I will mention are the Tankobon (the manga when put into book form). And the covers these things have simply FAN-SERVICE. Fan service, fan service, fan service... It was honestly hard to find a fitting poster for the series. HOWEVER, the fan service doesn't take away from the action and tension this series holds. The fan service really doesn't do much to the series except add humor and... provide fan service. In fact the fan service didn't really start until a few chapters after the first few, so I believe this was a suggestion on the editors part to draw to more readers. On a downside, sometimes the backgrounds for the chapter titles and Tankobon usually have blank backgrounds, and it does get tiring to have almost each tankobon be a fan-service cover.
Art: 8/10 Good...
The art is great, and works well with keeping the tension up with the story. It especially works with keeping up with Tom's character and his facial expressions when he is in deep thought. However, there is one thing that I need to nitpick, in the majority of the panels, there are NO BACKGROUNDS. There are action lines and gradients in used, but those are given. The lack of backgrounds can be understood with the chapter titles but in the main manga? Come on guys, your better than that. Now, the backgrounds aren't a necessity. I was interested and got into it anyway, but such a basic thing when drawing manga really should be addressed.
Still... when it comes down to it, the character design, and the oh so demonically evil facial expressions. The art just out-does so much and still makes it look realistic. So I will let the lack of backgrounds slide a little in this situation.
Characters: 9/10 Great
Hmm where to start with characters. There are just so many good ones. Well, let's start with the-
HOLY CRAP! Well... this is Tom Shirasagi. And he is definitely a great character. He's smooth and witty on a normal basis. But when he's in the middle of a good game he really gets with it.
For those of you who know about Hiruma from Eyeshield 21, if you like him you will like Tom. Not only is Tom highly intelligent and is able to win his games using bits of mathematics, physics and human psychology to his advantage, but he also doesn't give a match so easily. To the point that he will end up betting his body parts. (though this happens rarely, and is more for intimidation purposes.) I should also mention that he plays more than conventional gambling games, he also gambles on games such as Billiards, Two up and other more complicated games. So don't think you will be seeing the same games.
And as the story continues, it becomes apparent that the money Tom is collecting isn't as important to him as he makes it appear in the beginning. But that there is something else that he is after.
Other than that, you have your standard straight man, your standard cute female character who likes the main character. BUT, there is one thing that makes the series characters great and he happens to be... My Favorite character!
ROULETTE PLEASE!
Abidani
OMG IT'S THE MANGA VERSION OF THE GREEN GOBLIN!
But really, Abidani is a villan that will make you piss yourself whenever he makes his appearance. He is what would happen if an Nazi general did the fusion dance with a World of Warcraft Goblin, and he's 5x as fierce. But what makes him so fierce? What makes him so evil and feared. Simply put, he likes to see Tom play and Gamble, in fact after he's the one who manipulates students to challenge him for his own pleasures. He want's to see Tom play and eventually fail, but he wants to make it one hell of an entertaining match as well. Remember that picture with Tom's index finger was cut off? Well Abidani was behind that... personally... but I will leave it at that. Abidani and Tom play off of each other extremely well, not in a good vs.evil combination but a dark vs.dark struggle.
Finish it!
This is a great manga, and the only reason it's so unknown here in the states is because it wasn't published by a better known publisher like Shonen Jump or such. This is still a great series and should be read by anyone who has read or watched Death Note and liked it.
Also just as an added bonus, the trick Tom uses in his matches can be used in real games. It's true, everything he does can be used in real practice. I tried what he did in chapter 1 and it worked almost completely like he said.
Now I do green light "Gamble Fish". But... it doesn't have an official release outside of Japan and the only thing I could do is really point you out to an illegal stream since not everyone can read Japanese and pay for the original Tankobon online. HOWEVER, if you want to be a honorable Otaku then go to Tokyo pop, Viz Media or any manga publisher and write them an email or letter telling them that you like Gamble Fish and you tell them exactly why. And if an official release does come out, you buy them! Or you can do what I do and buy the actual Tankobon while learning Japanese. We need to let our opinions be heard. We should tell the official companies what we want to read, not whats popular in Japan all the time. Give your opinions everyone. And it will matter.
OVERALL: I give Gamble Fish. For rolling the dice of judgment and receiving...

Who am I and why should you care? Oh and how I review... that too.
Yosh everyone, I'm Rising Zan. Not to be confused with the samurai gunman.
I started this blog not to long ago, but have thought about it for a long time! My plans aren't to stop here on blog spot ooooooh no. I plan to go further and further till I PIERCE THROUGH THE INTERNET WITH MY XXX!!! Oops, sorry got a little carried away there. But yes, I plan to go much farther than just written reviews as I'm sure you know how entertaining those can get. I'll be doing video reviews... once I get money for a microphone and a video camera. Sorry, I'm broke. Go blame the cost of manga $9.00 for a Shonen Jump manga that's more than $8.00 for a Shonen Jump manga! But really in all reality, I do plan to do video reviews that are not only informative but actually entertaining, none of these boring and analytical reviews or these reviews were people say "I like this character alot cause she's pretty". No. I'll be funny, I'll be interesting and I will be THE OTAKING!!! Oops there I go again. But yeah, expect big things from me and I will not fail!
Oh I almost forgot, I need to explain how I review, silly me.
First of all, I make a promise to do one review (whether it be written, video or voice recording) every month of something japanese/otaku related for the rest of my online career! If I hold back on that promise and I don't have a damn good excuse. I have to do something for you guys, something REALLY REALLY Awesome Possum!

First note that I won't always be reviewing entire series to keep away from spoilers. I will be doing full reviews of series... but that won't be until I acquire a camera and some really good editing skillz! So in normal reviews I will review as followed.
Anime= The first 3 episodes.
OVA= The whole thing
Manga=First 10 chapters
Game= 1 full-walkthrough of game
Food (wait i'm reviewing japanese food too?! Sweet!)= 1 unit of food. (A bag, a bowl, a serving ect.)
If there is anything you want to review that is japanese or Otaku related then suggest them. I will probably turn down music as everyone has their own tastes in that that I am not qualified to judge.
Well, how I review is strange but hey that's me, and I feel it's more interesting that way. So first I give a little spiel in the beginning, catch your interest and explain the the basic synopsis of the subject at hand and then I officially begin the review by saying.
YOSH!!
Yeah, like that. And then I will proceed to cover the three basics Music, Art & Animation and Characters. Story, plot and voice acting will be covered in the characters section. OP's ED's OST's and anything musically related in the show will be covered in the music section, duh. And Art & Animation... anything that looks good or bad.
Now I also give these sections a number grade from 1 to 10. And like Angry Joe or any other good reviewer I see it like this, 7 isn't average, 5 is average. Anything below 5 is below average and anything above 5 is above average. And then I review like this.
1/10 Absolute Crap
2/10 Quasi Crap
3/10 Bad
4/10 Bah! (Below Average)
5/10 Average
6/10 Meh (Above average)
7/10 Nice
8/10 Good
9/10 Great
10/10 Grandeur
I do have a place if I ever review something worthy of 0/10 but I don't think it will ever come to that.
Also, I am planning to have a "Favorite character of the series" thing going on in my reviews. I will keep it brief but just as something for people to might look forward to. I won't fan boy completely (unless it's funny as hell) and will keep it interesting.
There is one more thing that goes with the grades. I tend to add "!" to things I think deserve a little more than that, thing of a 5/10 Average! grade as a 5+ if you will like a D+ kind of. I also have "..." to things that I think just barely made the grade like a C-. So a grade like 9/10 Great... is what I mean. Easy enough right?
Now the only thing you have to think about is my "Light system" it's easy.
Green Light= Thumbs Up. Go watch it! You will like it! At least give it a first try.
Yellow Light= Thumb is wavering. Some people like it, some won't. You make the final decision.
Red Light= Thumbs DOWN! There is something better to watch/read/play than this. Go at your own peril.

Other than that... that's it!
OH! Well there is the overall grade but... really that's more for me to keep track with future reviews. And it's a bottom line for the review. That's all that is.
So anyway, keep watching me. Because I will be going up in the internet.
Jaa~
